 November 2008 Production auditions 

Audition for November shows, Tuesday 5^th August, 8pm, Lower Village Hall

An exciting departure from the normal autumn show this year. Subject to finding a suitable cast, we are planning to put on two different productions on alternating nights, Thursday to Saturday, over a two-week period. Two different casts, a drama and a comedy… and both plays performed in the round. Show dates are:

Weds 19^th to Sat 22^nd November 2008 Show A, Show B, Show A, Show B
Weds 26^th to Sat 29^th November 2008. Show B, Show A, Show B, Show A

Jan Baggaley is running a joint audition for both shows at 8pm on Tuesday 5^th August in Quarndon Village Lower Hall. If you want to talk to Jan beforehand, she can be contacted on Derby 552244. If you are interested in auditioning but are unable to make the audition date, again please ring Jan before the audition to be considered for a role.

Backstage crew: with two separate shows on alternating nights, we will need lots of help backstage/offstage (wardrobe, props, prompt, producer, stage manager, sound, lighting, publicity/marketing, ticket/programme sales, front of house and refreshments). If you fancy trying your hand at something different, now’s your chance! Please contact Jan by Tuesday 5^th August on Derby 552244 if you are able to be involved offstage in this unique event.
 

New Members

Quarndon Amateur Dramatic Society has been performing plays in The Village Hall since the end of the Second World War. It is a small, friendly society which aims to put on two plays a year, in May and November. The working periods are therefore January—May and August—November. We rehearse twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, at the Church Hall, often followed by a visit to The Joiners Arms for those who want to! 

We always welcome new members to work on stage or backstage, whether in set design and construction, sound and lights, props, costume, make-up, front of house—the list goes on. You don’t have to be an aspiring actor to join Quads, any skill or aptitude would be welcomed into the society.

Social Events

A number of social and fundraising events, such as a one act play which was successfully staged this summer, a wine tasting evening and a walk in the Derbyshire countryside, all contribute to members keeping in touch outside rehearsal periods.
